Black & white portraits perfectly emphasize the emotional component - the main emphasis on the model's eyes, on mimicry. And all the distractions - the color, details of clothing - go by the wayside, or removed altogether.

The most difficult thing is to set the light correctly, so that the black on black (hair, clothes) does not become unreadable in one spot. We need to get the light to outline silhouette model, visually "separated" from its background.
